A huge shoutout to Priyanshu’s parents!

“The real victory belongs to the parents.”

Day after day, Priyanshu’s father was a constant source of motivation, fiercely dedicated to his son’s journey as a chess player. Short-term successes and failures never deterred him; he remained focused on the long-term vision. Priyanshu never missed a chess class, regardless of the weather—whether it was sunny or rainy. With unwavering commitment, he attended classes at KCA and BCA, participating in every session no matter how he felt. He participated in every chess tournament, regardless of whether he excelled or faced challenges. Some tournaments saw him scoring less than 4 out of 8, yet he and his parents persevered.

His schedule was tiring—school, offline classes, online Scholar classes, and home practice.

The challenges were numerous. Priyanshu had taken full-day leaves from school during the state camp for a month. Nevertheless, his parents adjusted their work schedules to ensure he arrived at the academy on time. From 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM, he attended non-stop classes, followed by home practice that continued into the early hours of the morning.

Through pure hard work and dedication, results followed.

To highlight his success, Priyanshu was unbeaten at the District Level but finished 2nd due to tiebreaks, earning a spot in the West Bengal State Championship, where he remains unbeaten—having not lost a single match! Additionally, he defeated a rated player in the State and secured 2nd place, qualifying for the U7 Nationals.

All of Priyanshu’s achievements are possible because of his parents’ unconditional support, their trust in the coaches, and their ongoing encouragement. They listened carefully to every instruction from the coaches and followed it precisely.
